Rufai Oseni Cautions APC: Northern Voters Discontent with Tinubu's Government

Full Story
Arise Television personality, Rufai Oseni, has issued a strong caution to the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that a significant portion of voters in Northern Nigeria are currently unhappy with President Bola Tinubu's administration. Oseni projected that this widespread dissatisfaction could lead to surprising outcomes for the ruling party in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
During his appearance on Arise Television’s "The Morning Show" on Monday, October 19, Oseni advised APC members against misinterpreting financial incentives or public displays of political allegiance in the Northern region as genuine support for their electoral prospects. He emphasized the need for realism, asserting: "Do not deceive yourself, you see, politicians are the most delusional and the most optimistic people on earth. Because you are giving tonnes of people money in the North, they are shouting your name, they are saying everything is well. Elections will shock you. The North is not happy with this administration."
Responding to anticipated critiques of his viewpoint, the prominent broadcaster clarified that his assessment was not based on a single empirical study but rather on his ongoing observations of the political landscape and public sentiment. Oseni further raised concerns about the true loyalty of opposition governors who recently switched to the APC, particularly after internal conflicts within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He suggested that these defections were likely driven by political expediency rather than deep-seated ideological alignment, casting doubt on their full commitment to the APC as the 2027 elections draw closer.
