Key members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Zuru Emirate in Kebbi State have publicly restated their commitment to President Bola Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris, signaling their readiness to campaign for their return to office in the 2027 general elections.

This declaration of allegiance, according to the party stalwarts, stems from Governor Idris’s significant contributions to infrastructure development, improvements in education and healthcare sectors, and advancements in agriculture, all aimed at enhancing the well-being of the state’s populace.

The Sunday endorsement follows closely on the heels of a warm reception reportedly accorded to Governor Idris by residents of Fakai, Sakaba, Danko/Wasagu, and Zuru local government areas during his recent tour of the emirate, where they also vocalized their backing for his aspiration for a second term.

This recent show of solidarity transpired during the inauguration of a palliative distribution initiative, orchestrated by Abdullahi Zuru, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Communication and Strategy, specifically targeting residents of Rafin Zuru Ward within Zuru Local Government Area.

Representing the diverse group of stakeholders, Alhaji Muhammad Saleh, a prominent member of the Kebbi State APC Executive Committee, conveyed the emirate's unwavering dedication to ensuring the electoral triumph of both President Tinubu and Governor Idris come 2027.

Saleh articulated, stating, “The governor’s efforts to address infrastructure deficits through road construction and rehabilitation, alongside investments in schools, healthcare and agriculture, had strengthened his standing among the people.” He characterized these initiatives as “profound contributions that deserved appreciation,” further asserting that the populace of Zuru Emirate was poised to reward the governor’s diligent work with their collective political backing.

Furthermore, Saleh lauded Governor Idris for “motivating his political appointees and close associates, among whom is Sadaukin Zuru, to extend aid to disadvantaged citizens and actively participate in the socio-economic advancement of their respective localities.” He concluded by highlighting that the governor's reputation for “compassion, generosity, integrity, and selflessness” had garnered him recognition far beyond the borders of Kebbi State.

In his address, Alhaji Abubakar Abiola, the Chairman of the APC in Zuru Local Government, extended felicitations to Sadaukin Zuru for his philanthropic efforts in assisting the less fortunate, attributing his actions to emulating the governor’s renowned generosity. Abiola characterized Governor Idris as a “General Commander of welfare and generosity,” and subsequently implored the recipients of the aid to judiciously utilize the financial support provided. He specifically advised individuals involved in small-scale trading to channel the funds into their enterprises, aiming to expand their capital base and enhance their overall economic standing.

Speaking earlier, Sadaukin Zuru expressed gratitude to Governor Idris for entrusting him with the opportunity to serve and positively impact the welfare of his community members. He further acknowledged the backing received from Alhaji Shehu Muazu Haruna, the Kebbi State Commissioner for Agriculture, for the successful execution of the initiative.

The empowerment scheme, formally named the Sadaukin Zuru Empowerment Initiative for the Needy, dispensed monetary aid ranging from ₦10,000 to ₦20,000 to over 400 individuals. This cohort of beneficiaries encompassed elderly men and women, young people, and other vulnerable segments of the population. The financial aid was strategically disbursed to enable recipients to address fundamental needs or to augment their existing business capital.

The gathering drew a significant crowd, including APC key figures, staunch supporters of Governor Idris, representatives from market women associations, youth and women’s groups, students, and associates hailing from Kebbi, Niger, Sokoto, and Zamfara states.
