Operatives from Sector 1, Sub-Sector 12 of Operation Enduring Peace have apprehended three individuals during a targeted operation on a suspected miscreant hideout. The raid occurred near the residence of retired General H. Umar in Rayfield, located within the Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

According to insights from security analyst Zagazola Makama, who cited security sources, the operation was executed in the early hours of October 2, 2026, specifically around 1:10 a.m. This action followed intelligence reports concerning the alleged criminal den.

The suspects taken into custody were identified as Grace Festus Edang, 25; Zoya Alabi, 23; and Ishaya Pierre, 60. During the search, troops reportedly discovered substances believed to be cannabis sativa. Following their arrest, the suspects were transferred to Keystone Anglo Jos to undergo further interrogation and appropriate legal procedures.

However, a notable incident occurred during the transfer process. One of the female suspects allegedly bit a soldier, identified by his service number X21930 OS Hussaini Ephraim, on his hand. The injured soldier was promptly taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment and was subsequently discharged after receiving necessary care.

Authorities anticipate that ongoing investigations will shed more light on the alleged activities of the suspects and the circumstances surrounding the recovered illicit substances. Security sources affirmed the military's commitment to continuing operations aimed at curbing criminal elements and upholding security across their designated areas of responsibility.
