Plateau Forest Kidnap Victim Rescued by Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE

In a daring operation, troops of Sector 2, Operation ENDURING PEACE, successfully rescued a 37-year-old man, Malam Adamu Umar, who had been kidnapped and held captive in a forest area in Plateau State. According to a military source, Umar, an indigene of Furiyam in Kanam Local Government Area, was abducted from Duguri village in Bauchi State on August 6, 2026. However, the victim managed to escape from his abductors and was subsequently found wandering through Madam Forest by the troops during an offensive operation on August 10, 2026, at about 6:45 a.m. The rescue operation took place on the outskirts of Kukawa village in Kanam LGA. After the rescue, Umar was handed over to the Kukawa village leader to be reunited with his family. This operation highlights the continued efforts of the troops to deny criminal elements the freedom to operate in the region and to rescue victims being held in isolated areas.
