Lere Olayinka, Wike's Aide, Demands Cleric's Arrest Over 'Enslavement' Sermon

Lere Olayinka, the media aide to the FCT Minister, has publicly called for the immediate apprehension of an Islamic cleric identified as Shafiy Adeba. This demand follows the widespread circulation of a video where Adeba is purportedly seen advocating for the enslavement of non-Muslims.
The controversial sermon, delivered in Yoruba, reportedly took place in a mosque located in Nigeria's Southwest region. In the video, Adeba is quoted as instructing his congregants: ''God said you should go to w@r with them. take them as slaves, lock them inside their house, tell them they can't go to the market or anywhere, they must not be seen outside. We Muslims have the right to lock infidels in their houses, not the other way…pin them down wherever you meet them, k!ll them where they hide. , lock them up in their houses..that's what the Quran said''. This particular segment of the sermon was reportedly repeated within the footage.
Reacting strongly to the viral video, Mr. Olayinka posted his condemnation online. He stated, ''This Cleric, by name Shafiy Adeba said Muslims have ‘Right’ to enslave Non-Muslims. He declared war against those he called infidels ‘Rooted In Islam’And he is preaching this nonsense in Yorubaland? A land of educated and civilised people with Christians, Muslims and traditional religion worshippers living together under the same roof?Methinks people like this man should be behind bars because extremist preachers like him caused Boko Haram that Nigeria is still battling today.'' Olayinka reiterated his conviction that such extremist rhetoric, especially in a diverse and historically tolerant region like Yorubaland, poses a significant threat and warrants legal intervention, drawing parallels to the origins of the Boko Haram insurgency.
