Edo State Police Command Gets New CP, Vows to Prioritize Citizens' Respect

The Edo State Police Command has welcomed a new Commissioner of Police, Patrick Daor, who has pledged to ensure that the command treats residents with respect and dignity. Daor made this vow on Monday when his predecessor, Assistant Inspector-General of Police Monday Agbonika, formally handed over the reins of the command to him at the state police headquarters in Benin. According to Daor, his administration will focus on building trust with the people of Edo State and maintaining an open-door policy, where everyone is encouraged to contribute to the policing process. 'Policing is not just for the police alone, it's for every one of us,' Daor said, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the police and the community. He also promised to fine-tune the command's crime-fighting strategies and build on the successes achieved under his predecessor. Daor stated that the command under his leadership will be highly mobile, with personnel responding promptly to issues affecting residents. 'A command that is always moving, addressing every issue that has to do with the good people of the state,' he added. Earlier, Agbonika noted that crime had been reduced to the barest minimum during his tenure and thanked the personnel of the command, spiritual leaders, and the Edo State Government for their support.
