Operatives from the Ogun State Police Command have apprehended a man known as Kehinde Makinde, who is also referred to as Pastor Kenny. This arrest occurred in Ibadan, Oyo State, and it is alleged that Makinde fraudulently obtained the sum of ₦2.5 million from 18 members of a fellowship in Saje, Adatan. The police spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this information in a statement released to the press on Monday. According to Babaseyi, the suspect was arrested after a four-month period of surveillance. The arrest was made by detectives from the Obantoko Division on August 3, 2026, at approximately 1645 hours. Preliminary investigations have revealed that Makinde allegedly deceived the fellowship members by promising them a government-sponsored pilgrimage to Jerusalem, with each member expected to receive ₦2 million. The suspect is currently in police custody, and efforts are being made to identify additional victims and apprehend any accomplices. It is also alleged that Makinde engaged in fraudulent activities under the guise of spiritual deliverance across Ogun, Oyo, and Osun states.
