Ondo Police Command Nabs Four Over Kidnap, Killing of Two in Idoani

Authorities in Ondo State have confirmed the apprehension of four individuals believed to be part of a criminal gang responsible for the abduction of Kehinde Yisa and the killing of 50-year-old Bako. Both incidents occurred in Ago Baale, Idoani, on March 3, 2026. The Command's spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, issued a statement on Thursday, June 25, 2026, revealing these developments.
The statement indicated that Umar Ibrahim, Musa Abdullateef, Ojo Sikiru, and Oseni Waheed, who are the identified suspects, have confessed to their involvement in the kidnap and murder. DSP Jimoh further elaborated that the case, initially handled by the Idoani Divisional Police, was later moved to the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad for a more thorough and discreet inquiry.
Leveraging reliable intelligence, forensic tracking, and advanced technical analysis, police operatives launched a well-coordinated operation spanning multiple states, including Oyo and Ogun, outside Ondo. The official statement from the Ondo State Police Command declared: "Ondo State Police Command has recorded a significant breakthrough in its relentless fight against kidnapping, violent crimes and other forms of criminality with the arrest and prosecution of four suspected members of a criminal syndicate linked to the kidnapping of one Kehinde Yisa and m8rder of another victim identified as Bako aged; 50yrs in Ago Baale, Idoani on 3rd of March, 2026."
This meticulous investigation culminated in success, leading to the arrest of the four primary suspects: Umar Ibrahim, aged 23; Musa Abdullateef, 26; Ojo Sikiru, 40; and Oseni Waheed, 43. Ibrahim, Abdullateef, and Sikiru were captured in various parts of Oyo State, while Waheed was apprehended in Ogun State after thorough intelligence-driven surveillance and tracking operations.
Initial inquiries indicate that the suspects have provided confessional statements, acknowledging their individual involvement in the conspiracy, abduction, and subsequent killing of their victims.
