Man Allegedly Murders Girlfriend — Delta Community Shaken

A tragic incident has reportedly occurred in the Edjeba Community, located within the Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, where a young man is accused of killing his girlfriend. The alleged crime took place during the early hours of Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

Reports indicate that the suspect and the deceased had been involved in a romantic relationship, with the woman frequently visiting the man's home on Ajidi Street in Edjeba. The shocking discovery unfolded when the landlord of the property heard distressed screams emanating from the suspect's apartment in the dead of night.

Alarmed by the cries, the landlord promptly contacted security operatives. Upon their swift arrival and a subsequent search of the apartment, law enforcement officers allegedly found the woman's lifeless body, bearing severe injuries. Her remains were then transported to a mortuary, while the suspect was apprehended and taken into custody for questioning regarding the incident.

The Delta State Police Command's spokesperson, CSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the occurrence of the event, stating, "It's confirmed. As for the claim that he is involved in internet fraud, I am not aware of that.” Investigations into the matter are presently ongoing.
