Italian Courts Dismiss Wanda Nara's 'Outrageous' Demands in Icardi Divorce Case

Argentine football star Mauro Icardi has finally broken his silence regarding his tumultuous divorce proceedings with his estranged wife, Wanda Nara. The 33-year-old striker publicly announced that the Italian courts have rejected what he described as "outrageous" financial demands made by Nara.

The couple, who initiated divorce proceedings two years ago after Nara confirmed their separation in September 2022, has been embroiled in a bitter legal dispute. Nara, a 39-year-old Argentine model, had been seeking substantial sums as part of their divorce settlement.

However, Icardi, a former player for Paris Saint-Germain and Galatasaray who is currently a free agent, revealed on his Instagram Stories that these requests have been thrown out by the judiciary. In a detailed statement, Icardi shared the positive outcome, stating: “Over here, it’s all good news. There has been a new ruling. They demanded the following in the divorce proceedings – €250,000 per month for my ex, €65,000 for each of my daughters and €100,000 per month as part of the divorce settlement.”

He further elaborated that on June 1, 2026, the judge dismissed these "outrageous claims." Dissatisfied with this initial decision and seemingly intent on pursuing more funds, Nara subsequently appealed the ruling. But Icardi confirmed that on July 27, 2026, the Italian courts delivered a definitive judgment, declaring the appeal inadmissible.

“This effectively puts an end to all claims and demands. There is now only one final step left before the divorce judgement is finalised,” Icardi explained. He expressed satisfaction with the legal process, remarking, “It’s good to see that the Italian justice system works. Back in 2024, people called me crazy for insisting that everything should be handled in Italy.”

Icardi and Nara exchanged vows in May 2014, following Nara's divorce from his former Sampdoria teammate, Maxi Lopez. Their relationship, which experienced various ups and downs, produced two daughters, Francesca and Isabella. Nara had previously made headlines in 2021, tearfully claiming on live television that Icardi had an affair with Maria Eugenia Suarez before their reconciliation.

Throughout his illustrious career, Icardi, an eight-cap Argentina international, secured four league titles during his successful tenure with Galatasaray. He has amassed a total of 250 senior goals at club level, with a significant portion of these goals scored during his time at Inter Milan.
