Real Madrid has reportedly secured an agreement in principle with German club RB Leipzig for the acquisition of Ivorian forward Yan Diomande. The 19-year-old talent has already ironed out personal terms, agreeing to a five-year contract with the Spanish giants.

This significant development was shared on Sunday by sports broadcaster Ben Jacobs via his X handle, where he stated, “Real Madrid reach an agreement in principle with Leipzig for Yan Diomande. Player already has terms in place on a five-year contract.” The proposed deal would see Diomande remain at the iconic Santiago Bernabéu stadium until 2031.

Born in Abidjan on November 14, 2006, Diomande initially joined RB Leipzig from Spanish outfit Leganés. He made a remarkable impression during his debut Bundesliga season, registering an impressive 12 goals and numerous assists across 33 league appearances. His electrifying pace and skill as a right-sided forward also shone on the international stage, where he represented Ivory Coast at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. His stellar performances were widely acclaimed as the Elephants advanced to the knockout rounds of the tournament.

This latest breakthrough follows earlier reports confirming Diomande's acceptance of Real Madrid's contractual terms. Interestingly, this commitment comes after the player had previously reached a verbal agreement with French powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain back in June. Real Madrid's initial offer for the highly-rated teenager, estimated at approximately €90 million plus an additional €10 million in performance-related add-ons, was turned down by Leipzig. This rejection prompted the Spanish club to prepare a revised, more attractive proposal.

News of the impending transfer quickly ignited discussions across social media platforms. User #victorbellamyke remarked, “He really chose Real over PSG.” Optimism for the upcoming season was evident, with #Timoatonai predicting, “Madrid is finally winning a trophy next season.” Another user, #CeePrince234, boldly declared, “Barcelona in trouble next season,” while #Chidiugoo drew a comparison, stating, “They have Yamal. We have Diomande. Hala Madrid.”

Should this transfer be formally completed, it is expected to significantly bolster Real Madrid's attacking prowess under the management of Jose Mourinho. The club continues to be highly active in the current summer transfer window, with further announcements regarding the final transfer fee and the conclusion of all necessary formalities anticipated as both clubs work towards finalising the agreement.
