France's First Lady, Brigitte Macron, famously entered a relationship with current President Emmanuel Macron when he was a teenager and she was 40, eventually marrying him years later. Now, her daughter, Tiphaine Auzière, appears to be following a similar path, having revealed her relationship with a business-school student almost half her age.

Ms. Auzière, 42, publicly announced her romance with 22-year-old Antoine Lecomte via an Instagram post that detailed their romantic getaway to Amsterdam. The youngest of the French First Lady’s three children, Ms. Auzière shared several images of the couple's journey to the Netherlands in a campervan, culminating in their stay at the luxurious Faralda Hotel. The shared footage also depicted them enjoying leisurely strolls through Amsterdam and visiting various exhibitions. Lecomte himself captioned their adventure, stating: “48h in ’Dam with Madam.”

The significant age difference between them, a gap of 20 years, is expected to generate considerable discussion, though the couple themselves seem unconcerned, as reported by Madame Figaro, a French magazine supplement to Le Figaro. Their relationship first came to light last month, courtesy of Gala, a weekly celebrity magazine, following reports that they met on the beaches of Le Touquet, a favored resort for the Macron family along the Channel coast.

Close acquaintances have drawn parallels between Ms. Auzière and her mother, Brigitte Macron, 73, who was a married 40-year-old teacher and a mother of three when Emmanuel Macron, then 15, fell in love with her in Amiens. A friend, speaking to Gala, remarked, “Antoine is an adventurer who is afraid of nothing, while Tiphaine is very like her mother. Like Brigitte, she only listens to her heart and does not care what others think.” Another friend elaborated on their connection, saying, “It was an instant connection between them. They have a lot in common: a love of Le Touquet and thrills, but also travel and entrepreneurship.”

Interestingly, Emmanuel Macron, the current French President, is only six years older than his stepdaughter, Tiphaine Auzière. Brigitte Macron is also said to have given her full approval to the relationship. A friend of Ms. Auzière conveyed to Gala, “She reacted like all mothers would. All that matters to her is her daughter’s happiness, so she is very happy to see her fulfilled.”
