Aregbesola's Unit Falls to APC as Accord Party Wins Big in Osun Governorship Election

The Osun governorship election has witnessed a significant upset as Rauf Aregbesola, the National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, lost his unit to the All Progressives Congress. Aregbesola had cast his vote at Ifofin Ward 8, Unit 1, in Ilesa East Local Government Area on Saturday. However, the APC emerged victorious in the unit, polling 256 votes, while the ADC managed to secure only 13 votes. The ruling party in the state, Accord, also made a strong showing, garnering 43 votes in the same unit. In another development, the Accord Party won convincingly at Ward 1, Unit 2, Ibokun NUD Primary School, Obokun Local Government Area, where the National Treasurer of the Peoples Democratic Party, Diran Odeyemi, cast his vote. The Accord Party polled 211 votes, while the APC got 178 votes. As the collation of results continues across the state, the outcome of the election remains eagerly anticipated. The election was largely peaceful, with a high turnout of voters, and the Accord Party's strong performance has raised eyebrows. The APC's victory in Aregbesola's unit has also sparked interest, as the party seeks to maintain its grip on the state.
