The ongoing Osun State gubernatorial election has witnessed a significant challenge with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines. Former Minister of State for Police Affairs, Alhaji Jelili Adesiyan, expressed his dissatisfaction with the slow performance of the BVAS machine at his polling unit. Adesiyan cast his vote at Unit 8, Ward 6, Lagere Idiose, Ode Omu, and observed that the machine's slow pace could lead to delays in the voting process. According to him, despite the peaceful atmosphere, the BVAS machine was not functioning optimally, which could affect the large number of voters on the queue. 'The exercise is peaceful here. There have not been any problems, only that the BVAS is very slow,' Adesiyan stated. He noted that with almost 1,000 registered voters at the unit, the slow pace of the machine could lead to a long waiting period for voters. As of 2 pm, less than 200 voters had cast their ballots. Adesiyan also mentioned that some elderly voters were experiencing difficulties with the BVAS machine, which was not capturing their data. He suggested that an additional BVAS machine be provided to expedite the voting process. However, he assured that every registered voter on the queue would be allowed to exercise their franchise.
