Makinde Under Fire as Oyo APC Slams State of Health, Education Sectors

The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has expressed deep concern over the deplorable state of the health and education sectors in the state. This comes after a disturbing video surfaced on social media, showing a frustrated individual lamenting the absence of medical personnel at the Adeoyo State Hospital in Yemetu, Ibadan. According to the party's Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, the Seyi Makinde administration has failed to deliver on its promises, despite having access to substantial funds. Sadare noted that the government's achievements in the health sector are limited to paying staff salaries and renovating some primary health centers, while major hospitals like the Lautech Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso and the Adeoyo State Hospitals in Yemetu and Ring Road, Ibadan, are in a state of disrepair. The party also criticized the condition of public primary and secondary schools, where facilities are in disarray and teachers are facing excessive deductions from their salaries. Sadare stated, 'Despite the mellifluous access to funds, the Makinde administration has been found wanting in the delivery of good governance in all ramifications.' He further expressed concern that the situation may worsen before the end of Governor Makinde's tenure, as he seems to prioritize personal ambition over the welfare of the people. The APC has urged the state government to take immediate action to address the issues in the health and education sectors, which are critical to the well-being of the citizens.
