The sudden passing of Mary Habila has sent shockwaves through her community, with many taking to social media to express their condolences. However, amidst the outpouring of grief, some misinformation has surfaced regarding Habila's profession. Anita Baki, a physiotherapist and close colleague of the deceased, has come forward to set the record straight. In a heartfelt video, Baki described Habila's death as a devastating loss, revealing that they had worked together for years under the Minister of Works and had even lived in the same staff quarters. 'My name is Anita Baki, I am the colleague of Late Mary Habila,' she began, her voice laced with emotion. Baki expressed her grief over Habila's passing, stating that the news had left her too distraught to speak at length about the incident. 'Her death is so unfortunate and sudden and so surprising that it is going viral and everywhere. I don’t have much to say because I am not in a good state of mind to speak more about her death. It’s a great loss to me, being a close person to her.' Baki also addressed claims that she and Habila had recently been brought from northern Nigeria to work in the minister's office, clarifying that they had both served there for several years. 'We were not transported from the north. I have been working with her for a very long time now. We have been working under the minister.' Furthermore, Baki corrected reports that had misidentified Habila's profession, stressing that she was the physiotherapist, not Habila. 'She is a nurse while I am the physiotherapist. The news has been spreading around that she is a physiotherapist. I am the physiotherapist here and not her.' According to Baki, both women had worked under the Minister of Works for more than three years, with Habila also being attached to David Umahi Federal University, Uburu. They had lived together with other staff members in the official staff quarters, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie. 'We stay together and other staff members in the quarters,' Baki added, highlighting the close-knit nature of their living arrangement.
