Police Investigate Mysterious Death of 60-Year-Old Man in Jigawa Hotel

An investigation has been launched by the Jigawa State Police Command into the sudden death of a 60-year-old man at a hotel in Dutse. The man had checked into the hotel with a 20-year-old woman on Tuesday before he developed breathing difficulties shortly after ordering a meal. Following a distress call, officers from the Yalwawa Police Division rushed the victim to the General Hospital in Dutse, where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel. As part of their probe, police detectives have secured the scene and recovered various items, including food, beverages, and a suspected sexual enhancement substance, for forensic examination to determine the cause and circumstances of the death. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, all necessary procedures have been followed to preserve evidence, and the deceased's body has been released to his family for burial after the completion of medical certification and official formalities. The 20-year-old woman who was with the deceased at the time of the incident is cooperating with investigators, providing useful information to help reconstruct the events leading to the man's death. The Commissioner of Police has assured that the investigation will be thorough, professional, and impartial, urging the public to refrain from speculation and circulating unverified information that could prejudice the ongoing probe. 'The Command remains committed to uncovering the facts surrounding the incident, and further information will be made available as the investigation progresses,' Shiisu stated.
