Confused Man's Car Damages Jay-Z and Beyoncé's East Hampton Gate

An individual has been taken into custody following an incident where he drove a vehicle at considerable speed up the private driveway of music icons Beyoncé and Jay-Z, ultimately colliding with their security gate and causing significant damage. Law enforcement officials described the 63-year-old man as appearing "confused" after he failed to halt his car before impacting the entrance of the couple's lavish $26 million (approximately £19 million) East Hampton residence.
Police reports indicate that the driver was "at a high rate of speed up the driveway" and did not "stop at the closed mechanical driveway gates," which led to "significant damage." Investigators do not believe the man harbored any ill intentions towards the celebrity duo. It was discovered that prior to this event, he had stopped at a different house further down the road, inquiring about a particular woman, but was informed she did not reside there.
Detective Sergeant Jennifer Dunne, speaking to Page Six, confirmed that the man "has no criminal history and he seemed confused at the scene and after the arrest." She further elaborated, "He did not make any threats or mention names of the residents. It could just be a chance he picked that house if he was having a medical issue." The detective added that the homeowner at the previous stop also noted the man "seemed confused" after he asked for a woman by name and then proceeded when told she wasn't there.
The unidentified man was transported to Stoney Brook Hospital due to pain. His vehicle has been impounded, and police have filed an affidavit for criminal trespass and criminal mischief. The incident remains under active investigation. Dunne reiterated that "no weapons were found, no notes found, no direct threats made and no direct mention of residents of the house so we are not sure he even knew who lived in that house at this point." It remains unclear whether Jay-Z and Beyoncé were present at their home during the time of the crash, as Jay-Z recently performed in New York as part of his 30 Tour.
