Harare Court Hears Married Doctor's Two Girlfriends Clash Over Him

A prominent Zimbabwean medical practitioner and business executive, Dr. David Madzikanda, recently disclosed before a Harare magistrate's court that two women involved in a cyberbullying dispute are both his romantic partners, despite him being legally married to another woman. Dr. Madzikanda made this revelation while giving evidence as a State witness to Magistrate Lisa Mutendereki, during the ongoing trial of Tsitsi Mutseriwa, who has accused Millicent Murape of cyberbullying and harassment.
According to reports from The Herald, Dr. Madzikanda informed the court that he had never entered into matrimony with Mutseriwa and had no intentions of doing so. He stated, "I never married Mutseriwa and will never marry her. I have only one wife at home who works in a bank."
The doctor further testified that the conflict between Mutseriwa and Murape intensified after Murape became pregnant, which reportedly caused friction between them. He recounted an incident in July 2025 when he was having lunch at Mutseriwa's residence, only for Murape to arrive unexpectedly, leading to a confrontation between the women.
Regarding allegations of property damage, Dr. Madzikanda asserted ownership of the property where windows were reportedly broken. He argued that he was the only individual with the legal standing to report any damage to his property. He also claimed that Mutseriwa later demanded he construct a house and purchase a vehicle for her as a condition for withdrawing the case.
However, Mutseriwa presented a different narrative to the court, stating that Murape was initially her tenant before commencing a relationship with Dr. Madzikanda. Mutseriwa accused Murape of sending abusive messages via WhatsApp, vandalizing her property by smashing windows, and making allegations that Mutseriwa had used witchcraft to induce a miscarriage in Murape.
The prosecution detailed that the alleged abusive messages began on July 5, 2025, with more messages following the next day. Murape is also accused of using stones to damage window panes and allegedly boasting that she would soon become the landlady of the property. Mutseriwa further alleged that she once discovered Dr. Madzikanda inside Murape's apartment and had to wait outside for approximately an hour. She also claimed that the doctor has four other wives, a detail not confirmed by Dr. Madzikanda's own testimony.
Dr. Madzikanda, in his testimony, confirmed that the child he shares with Murape was conceived intentionally. The cyberbullying case is still ongoing at the Harare Magistrates' Court.
