Abuja sees 93 police officers rise through ranks in latest PSC approvals

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has given its approval for the advancement of 93 senior police officers to higher ranks. This significant decision came after these officers successfully cleared a recently concluded written examination and oral interview held at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja. In a related development, 28 Assistant Commissioners of Police have been moved up to Deputy Commissioner of Police, with 33 Chief Superintendents of Police also receiving promotions to Assistant Commissioner of Police.
Beyond the senior officer promotions, the PSC also endorsed the confirmation of appointment for 162 Assistant Superintendents of Police II (ASP II), who will now hold the substantive rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police I (ASP I).
Following the official announcement of the promotions, the Chairman of the Commission, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (retd), extended his congratulations to the newly elevated officers. He implored them to uphold the trust placed in them by rendering exceptional service.
Argungu specifically instructed the promoted personnel to consistently demonstrate “truthfulness, transparency and accountability” in their professional conduct. He further cautioned them to maintain the highest levels of professionalism and steer clear of any engagement in civil disagreements, particularly those concerning land issues. The PSC Chairman also reminded the officers about the importance of safeguarding their integrity throughout their service, emphasizing the reality of life after retirement. “Guide your reputation and integrity.
