Soldiers operating under Operation Hadin Kai successfully intercepted a tricycle and a significant consignment of solar generators and panels, all believed to be en route to various terrorist groups. This interception occurred during a routine stop-and-search operation conducted along the Potiskum–Maiduguri highway.

Intelligence sources, as revealed to security analyst Zagazola Makama, confirmed that the operation took place around 8:00 p.m. on June 26, 2026. Troops from the 233 Tank Battalion, stationed at a checkpoint on the said route, were responsible for the discovery. Initial reports from these sources indicate that the soldiers first stopped a truck with registration number KTG 647 ZZ, which was transporting a tricycle lacking proper ownership or transportation documents.

Further search activities along the same highway led to the discovery of a Volkswagen Sharan, registered as KRD 74 XL. This vehicle was found to be loaded with sixteen solar panels and an equal number of solar generators, also without any valid accompanying paperwork. The individuals apprehended in connection with these findings have been identified as Abdullahi Nasiru, 39, and Anas Danliti, 35, both hailing from Azare Local Government Area in Bauchi State. The third suspect is Kabiru Yakubu, 55, from Hardokwala Local Government Area of Taraba State.

All three suspects, along with the recovered items, are currently in the custody of the 233 Tank Battalion. A thorough investigation is underway to ascertain the rightful ownership, ultimate destination, and intended application of the seized equipment. Military officials stated that this operation is a component of Operation Hadin Kai's continuous efforts to dismantle terrorist logistics networks and prevent the supply of materials that could bolster insurgent operations across the North-East region. The sources further added that troops are intensifying stop-and-search efforts on key supply routes to deny terrorist organizations access to vital logistical support.
