New Leaks Unveil Thicker, Heavier iPhone 18 Pro Max Details

Recent revelations from a prominent leaker, known as Ice Universe, suggest that the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max model is set to be notably heavier and thicker than its predecessor, the iPhone 17 Pro Max. This information follows earlier speculations that hinted at a 2mm increase in thickness for the iPhone 18 Pro.
According to the latest leaks, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is projected to weigh 240g and measure 9mm in thickness. For context, the previous iPhone 17 Pro Max weighed 233g and had a thickness of 8.8mm. This indicates a minor increase, which is less substantial than initial rumors had suggested. Users who found the iPhone 17 Pro Max comfortable should likely find the new model equally manageable.
However, when compared to other devices, the difference becomes more apparent. The forthcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, for instance, is rumored to weigh approximately 201g, despite being a folding smartphone. The likely reason for the iPhone 18 Pro Max's increased bulk is an enhanced battery capacity, a feature widely welcomed by smartphone users. A recent certification has disclosed that the eSIM-only variant will house a robust 5,567 mAh battery, while the model retaining a physical SIM card will feature a 5,391 mAh cell. This marks a significant upgrade from the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which came with 5,088 mAh and 4,823 mAh batteries for its respective versions.
