The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially unveiled its Best XI squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, with no Super Falcons player making the esteemed selection. This announcement follows a rather underwhelming campaign for the Nigerian national team, which saw them exit the tournament in the quarter-final stage.

Nigeria's journey came to an end after a 1-0 defeat at the hands of eventual champions Cameroon. This early elimination was a significant blow for the Super Falcons, marking the first time in their history that the ten-time African champions failed to reach the semi-finals of the continental showpiece.

Cameroon, the tournament winners, had a strong presence in the Best XI, with four of their players earning spots. Goalkeeper Michaely Bihina, alongside Myrian Myadjou, Monique Ngock, and Marie Ngah, were all recognized for their exceptional performances. Runners-up Malawi also saw two of their talents included, with sisters Tabitha Chawinga and Temwa Chawinga both securing places.

Hosts Morocco and Algeria each contributed two players to the line-up. Mohaila Benzina and Hanane Ait El Haj represented Morocco, while Ines Belloumou and Marine Dafeur earned recognition for Algeria. The star-studded squad was completed by Zambian striker Barbara Banda, and Cameroon’s Valentine Nguele was rightfully named Coach of the Tournament.

The final composition of the Best XI serves to highlight the Super Falcons' disappointing run during the WAFCON 2026 championship.
