Details have emerged regarding the private wedding ceremony of football icon Cristiano Ronaldo and his long-term partner, Georgina Rodríguez. The 41-year-old billionaire footballer reportedly married Rodríguez, 32, in a low-key and exclusive event last week, approximately a year after his £3 million ring proposal.

Exclusive photographs from the nuptials, now revealed by Vogue Magazine, show that the couple exchanged their vows within the living room of their £30 million mansion located in Cascais, Portugal. Reflecting on the moment, Rodríguez shared, "It was exactly as I’d imagined it," confessing she "couldn’t hold back the tears."

Further confirmation came from Jornal de Notícias, which on Thursday published a copy of their marriage certificate. This document indicated that only four witnesses, alongside their children, were present for the special occasion. Notably absent were Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro, and his siblings Hugo, Elma, and Katia, who reportedly learned of the wedding just 30 seconds before it took place.

Speaking to Vogue, Rodríguez explained their decision for an intimate ceremony, despite plans for a grander celebration with family and friends in the future. She described the past year as "crazy" due to their various work and personal commitments. Recalling her childhood dreams of elaborate weddings, she stated, "When I was a little girl, I dreamt of the biggest castle, the biggest carriage, the longest dress, a crown full of diamonds. And now I’m saying, ‘No. I want something intimate, with my partner and our children, at home.’" She elaborated, "Because castles, houses, islands, horses, cars: we have all of that within reach every day. But something intimate – that’s more unusual for us."

When questioned about the impact of marriage, Ronaldo commented, "Just the fact of being man and wife – you enter a different league." He also hinted that this might be "probably [his] last year of football," with his future "all mapped out" to dedicate more time to his family, even considering the possibility of expanding their family. Rodríguez mused, "Another baby now would be overbooking at home. But when the youngest are 15 or 16, we’ll still be young, so why not? It’s true that I can’t imagine myself without small children, so we’ll see." Ronaldo echoed her sentiments, declaring, "I never say never," adding his desire to "leave a spectacular legacy."

Following their marriage, the newlywed couple made their first public appearance with their children on Saturday evening. They were spotted at the Saudi Pro League match between Al-Nassr and Al-Fateh, held at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh.
