Two-Year Deal for Ange Postecoglou at Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr

Saudi League champions Al Nassr have officially announced the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach, securing him on a two-year contract. The 60-year-old, previously at the helm of Tottenham and the Australian national team, will now link up with their star player, Cristiano Ronaldo. Postecoglou had been without a club since his brief and unsuccessful tenure at Nottingham Forest, where he was dismissed in October after a mere 39 days and eight matches.
In a public statement, the club declared: "A new chapter. Mr Ange Postecoglou as coach of the first football team at Al-Nassr club. And that with a contract extending for two seasons. Our best wishes for success to him and his staff in their journey with the global club, God willing."
Postecoglou, who was born in Greece but holds Australian nationality, commenced his managerial journey in Melbourne. His career progressed significantly, leading him to manage the Australian national team, the Socceroos, starting in 2013, a role that saw him guide them to the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Following his departure in 2017, he coached in Japan before spending two successful years with Scottish giants Celtic. His move to the English Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur occurred in 2023.
During his time at Spurs, Postecoglou notably secured a Europa League triumph in 2025, marking the club's first major trophy in 17 years. However, a disappointing performance in the domestic league ultimately led to his dismissal. His subsequent period at Nottingham Forest proved to be exceptionally short and largely unsuccessful. Now, at Al Nassr, he will collaborate with the renowned 41-year-old Portuguese international forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, who himself arrived at the Saudi club in 2023.
