Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, following the demise of his wife, Olori Basirat Ajibola. The Governor described Olori Basirat's passing as a significant loss not just to the Ajibola family, but also to Ibadanland and the entire Oyo State.
In a statement released on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Governor Makinde highlighted the late Olori's contributions to the community. Olori Basirat, who also held the revered title of Aare Onibon Iyalode of Ibadanland, was acknowledged for her unwavering support for the monarch and her deep commitment to the welfare of the community.
Governor Makinde conveyed his sympathies, stating, "On behalf of the Government and people of Oyo State, I extend my deepest sympathies to Oba Tajudeen Ajibola and the entire family. Her passing is a painful loss, and we pray that the Almighty grants His Majesty and other members of the family the strength and comfort needed at this difficult time. May her soul rest in perfect peace."
The Governor further remarked that Olori Basirat Ajibola's legacy, marked by humility and dedicated service, would be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. He also used the opportunity to reaffirm the state government's continuous support for the traditional institution and the people of Ibadanland during this period of mourning.
