Trump's 'Take Out' Comments on LA, San Diego Spark Mayoral Outrage

Full Story
During a rally held in Nebraska on Monday night, former President Donald Trump made a contentious statement suggesting that Iran possessed the capability to 'take out' both Los Angeles and San Diego. These remarks have since drawn strong condemnation from the respective mayors of the two major Californian cities, as reported by TMZ.
Trump’s comments emerged while he was discussing the rising cost of fuel, which he attributed to the ongoing conflict with Iran. He noted that American drivers were experiencing a 'little bit' higher prices at the petrol pump. The report indicates that Trump asserted Iran could devastate an American city, though he did not provide any evidence to substantiate this claim. He was quoted saying, 'Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego.' He further characterized such an event as a 'small price to pay' and declared that the war was 'essentially almost over with.'
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass swiftly denounced the former president’s statements via a post on X. She emphasized, 'The role of a president is to protect the country, not to actively threaten it and encourage attacks on American lives.' Similarly, San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria voiced his strong disapproval of Trump’s comments, stating, 'San Diego is not collateral damage. We are not expendable. And we are never a 'small price to pay.' Keep our city out of your reckless war talk.'
