Solomon Olarewaju, who serves as the Special Assistant to the Ogun State Governor and a prominent figure within the CityBoy Movement in Ado-Odo Constituency II, has lauded the group for its extensive grassroots efforts. Olarewaju, in a statement released on Monday, commended the movement’s dedication to ensuring electoral success for President Bola Tinubu and Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as YAYI, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant for Ogun State in the forthcoming 2027 elections.

He specifically praised the leadership and members of the CityBoy Movement for their ongoing work in disseminating the achievements and agenda of the Tinubu administration across various communities throughout the state, utilizing diverse outreach programs and mobilization strategies. Olarewaju emphasized that the increasing footprint of the movement at the community level is crucial for solidifying the APC’s foundational structure and garnering increased public support for the party in anticipation of the 2027 general elections.

Furthermore, he highlighted that the activities spearheaded by the CityBoy Movement have opened avenues for young people and other community stakeholders to actively engage in political processes and mobilization drives. Olarewaju stated, "I want to commend the CityBoy Movement in Ogun State for the tremendous efforts they are making through their programmes and grassroots mobilisation. Their commitment to ensuring victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC is commendable."

He reaffirmed the movement’s unwavering commitment to achieving the ambitious target of two million votes for President Tinubu within Ogun State. Olarewaju indicated that the group intends to escalate its grassroots mobilization initiatives across the state to meet this objective. The two-million-vote target was initially set by YAYI during the official inauguration of the CityBoy Movement in Ogun State, where he urged members to secure this number of votes for Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

"We are reiterating the commitment to deliver and mobilise over two million votes for President Tinubu in Ogun State," Olarewaju continued. "As members and stakeholders of the CityBoy Movement, we will continue to take the message of the administration and our political agenda to the grassroots."

Olarewaju also expressed his strong backing for YAYI’s proposed ITESIWAJU agenda, describing it as a comprehensive framework designed to foster continuity, promote development, and ensure inclusive governance throughout Ogun State. The CityBoy Movement stakeholder, who is also the convener of the OSA Movement, pointed out the significance of YAYI’s focus on youth participation, stressing the vital role young individuals play in political mobilization and the overall governance process.

He added, "YAYI has continued to demonstrate interest in youth participation and mobilisation. His engagement with young people is something we believe should be sustained because the youths have an important role to play in the political and governance process."

Finally, Olarewaju called upon all members and stakeholders of the CityBoy Movement across Ogun State to uphold their dedication to peaceful political engagement, robust grassroots mobilization, and active voter participation as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify. He assured that the movement would persistently work towards securing widespread support for President Tinubu, Senator YAYI, and the APC across the state. Olarewaju, recently appointed an ECOWAS Council Youth Ambassador, concluded by stating his personal commitment to advancing youth development, mobilization, and youth-centric governance policies across the West African region.
