President Tinubu Greets Shema on 69th Birthday; Recalls Katsina Contributions

President Bola Tinubu has extended his warm felicitations to the former Governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shema, as he marked his 69th birthday. Shema, who served as Katsina State's helmsman from 2007 to 2015, celebrated this milestone on Tuesday, September 22.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, President Tinubu joined Shema's family, friends, and associates in celebrating the former state chief executive, whom he hailed as a 'visionary leader.'

The President particularly commended Shema's significant impact on nation-building and national development. He highlighted the former governor's crucial interventions across various sectors within Katsina State during his tenure. The statement partly read, “President Tinubu believes the former governor raised the bar of governance in Katsina through sustained investment in durable infrastructure, including rural roads, schools, business institutes, clinics, and a state-of-the-art specialist hospital.”

Furthermore, President Tinubu acknowledged Shema’s continued support and offered prayers for his good health and longevity. “The President thanked Shema for his continued support and prayed that Almighty God would grant him many more years in good health,” the statement concluded.

Shema, a distinguished lawyer and politician, led Katsina State as governor between 2007 and 2015. He is currently a prominent member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and also serves on the party’s Presidential Campaign Council.
