Edo Governor's Aide Threatens Davido, Declares Performance Ban

Kassy Chukwu, the Senior Special Assistant to the Edo State Governor on Digital Media, has reportedly imposed a ban on popular musician Davido from performing within the state. This development follows a public disagreement between Davido and Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebolo.
The friction began when Governor Okpebolo visited Osun State ahead of an election there. During his campaign for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, he reportedly made remarks questioning voters if they were tired of their "unserious" incumbent governor, who he claimed "only focuses on dancing." These comments were widely interpreted as a jab at Davido's uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State.
Davido expressed his displeasure with Governor Okpebolo's comments, taking to social media to retaliate. He shared what he claimed was a poor WAEC result associated with the Edo State Governor, using it to mock him. In a recent interview, Davido reiterated his stance, stating he would not apologize to Governor Okpebolo and expressed sympathy for the governor's children due to their father's public conduct.
Responding to the ongoing controversy, Mr. Chukwu released a video online. In the video, he strongly criticized Davido for disrespecting his principal. He asserted that Davido is now prohibited from performing in Edo State for the entire anticipated six-year duration of Governor Okpebolo's tenure. Furthermore, Chukwu alleged that the WAEC result image Davido had posted online to ridicule the governor was, in fact, generated using Artificial Intelligence.
