Osun Lawmaker Abiola Ibrahim Questioned Over Large Voter Gathering

In a dramatic turn of events, Abiola Ibrahim, a member of the Osun State House of Assembly, was interrogated by security operatives after a large crowd of voters was discovered at a private residence in Ikire on the day of the governorship election. The residence, which belongs to Ibrahim's late father, Raji Ibrahim, had about 146 people gathered inside, prompting the attention of armed police officers. The incident occurred as voting commenced across the state on Saturday. In a video circulating on social media, Ibrahim is seen responding to questions from the security personnel, explaining that the individuals had gathered to participate in the election. 'They are voters for the election happening today,' Ibrahim stated. However, when asked if the voters were registered in Ikire, Ibrahim acknowledged that the group included both locals and people from outside the community. 'Some of them are, some of them are indigenes from outside. I did not hire them. I did not promise anything,' he clarified. The security personnel also inquired about the political affiliations of the individuals and whether Ibrahim had mobilized them in support of a particular candidate. Ibrahim responded, 'Voting is their choice. I'm not their agent,' while confirming his membership in the Accord Party. The scene also showed security personnel holding Permanent Voter Cards, which Ibrahim claimed belonged to the people gathered at the residence.
