Osun Election: Physically-Challenged Voter Hails Officials for Special Treatment

During the Osun State governorship election, a physically-challenged voter named Aminat Akinsola expressed her gratitude towards the election officials at her polling unit in Ejigbo. The officials had made arrangements to facilitate her voting process, allowing her to cast her ballot without the difficulties that would have arisen from waiting in line with other voters. Akinsola voted at Polling Unit 6, Ward 4, where she was accorded priority treatment during the accreditation and voting process. She stated, 'I'm so happy because I was treated with respect while I was trying to cast my vote. I was even the first person to be accredited.' Akinsola also commended the peaceful atmosphere at the polling unit, which enabled voters to exercise their franchise without any hindrance. Furthermore, she hoped that the election's outcome would reflect the choice of the people of Osun State. The polling unit had a significant presence of security personnel, who maintained order and ensured a smooth voting process. The security operatives also assisted in coordinating the movement of voters. Additionally, young voters were grouped according to gender to manage the crowd and prevent disorder. This development occurred as voters across the state turned out to elect the next governor of Osun State.
