INEC, U-Blaze Global Team Up for Ondo Voter Registration Push

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially announced a partnership with U-Blaze Global Limited, a non-governmental organization, to significantly boost voter registration awareness across Ondo State. This collaborative effort is strategically timed ahead of the July 26 deadline for the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
This alliance is a key part of the electoral body's sustained preparations for future elections, aiming to motivate eligible Nigerians to register as first-time voters, facilitate transfers of registration where necessary, or update their existing voter information. The commission conveyed these details in a statement released on Monday, following a voter sensitisation exercise that took place in Akure.
According to INEC, the primary goal of this initiative is to expand the scope of voter education and encourage greater participation from citizens in the electoral process. The statement partly read, “The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ondo State Office, in collaboration with U-Blaze Global Limited, a non-governmental organisation, has organised a voter sensitisation walk in Akure to encourage eligible citizens to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise ahead of its deadline.”
The statement further explained that the initiative, aptly named ‘PVC Assembly Walk 2026 – Vote Ready Ondo,’ forms a crucial part of efforts to deepen voter education, foster responsible citizenship, and urge eligible residents to either register as first-time voters, apply for a transfer of their registration, or update their voter information before the CVR exercise officially closes on July 26, 2026.
The awareness walk itself covered prominent areas of the state capital, drawing participation from students, members of the partner organization, and officials from INEC. “The awareness walk commenced at the First Bank Traffic Light, Alagbaka, and proceeded through Omi-Eja, A-Division, Olukayode and Oja-Oba before terminating at Democracy Park, behind the Central Mosque, Akure. The exercise attracted students, members of U-Blaze Global Limited and officials of INEC, Ondo State,” the statement detailed.
Participants utilized the opportunity to engage with residents, providing valuable education on the voter registration process and emphasizing the critical importance of actively participating in elections. The statement noted, “At the end of the walk, participants engaged members of the public in voter education activities, providing information on the registration process and highlighting the importance of citizens’ participation in the electoral process.”
During the event, Mr. Olayinka Ogunseye, who serves as the Head of the Voter Education and Publicity Department for INEC in Ondo State, lauded the partnership between the commission and U-Blaze Global Limited. “Speaking during the event, the Head of the Voter Education and Publicity Department, INEC Ondo State, Mr Olayinka Ogunseye, commended the collaboration between the Commission and U-Blaze Global Limited in advancing voter awareness across the state.”
He further highlighted INEC’s unwavering commitment to expanding partnerships with civil society organizations and other key stakeholders to bolster voter education and public sensitisation. Ogunseye affirmed that INEC, under the leadership of the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Ondo State, Dr. Mutiu Agboke, will continue to back initiatives that promote increased participation in the electoral process. He also appealed to all eligible citizens who have not yet registered, those looking to transfer their registration, or update their voter records, to take full advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise before its deadline.
In conclusion, the commission reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring that every eligible voter is afforded the opportunity to partake in future elections. “The Commission has continued to intensify voter education activities across the state as part of its commitment to ensuring that every eligible citizen has the opportunity to register and participate in future elections,” the statement concluded.
