The All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State believes that Governor Biodun Oyebanji's accomplishments during his first term will pave the way for his re-election. According to the party's State Publicity Secretary, Segun Dipe, Oyebanji's track record speaks for itself, showcasing a commitment to transparency and accountability. Dipe stated, 'No doubt, Oyebanji's résumé of 'I have done it right and will still do more' will triumph over the 'I haven't done it, but try me, I can do better' of the opposition party candidates.' Since assuming office in October 2022, Oyebanji has focused on building systems rather than relying on rhetoric. His administration has prioritized accountability, introducing measures such as budget town halls, merit-based recruitment, and audit independence. As a result, Ekiti State has transitioned from a 'government by announcement' to a 'government by open books.' The APC spokesperson highlighted several key achievements, including fiscal transparency, institutional reform, and citizen participation in the budgeting process. With the June 20 poll approaching, the party is confident that Oyebanji's performance will secure his re-election. Dipe emphasized, 'Under Oyebanji, accountability has been institutionalised. Through budget town halls, merit-based recruitment, TSA enforcement and audit independence, Ekiti has shifted from politics-as-usual to rules-based, data-driven governance.' The party is now looking to the voters to deliver their verdict on Oyebanji's re-election bid.
