The Progressive Governors' Forum Chairman and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has disclosed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has established a network of 4,421,150 agents across the country's 176,846 polling units. This move is part of the party's strategy to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu's reelection in the 2027 general elections. Uzodimma, who is also the Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, expressed confidence in Tinubu's performance, stating that it would earn him a second term in office. The governor made this disclosure during the Renewed Hope Ambassadors' national retreat held in Abuja. According to Uzodimma, the party has put in place a layered command structure that covers the six geopolitical zones, 36 states, and the Federal Capital Territory, as well as the 774 local government areas and 8,809 registration areas. The Renewed Hope Ambassadors has 17 directorates, including those for youth, organisation and mobilisation, media and publicity, and digital and new media. Uzodimma announced that the RHA had launched a digital platform equipped with a data communication centre to track public sentiment and counter misinformation in real-time. The governor described the 2027 elections as a defining moment for Nigeria, stating that they would be a referendum on whether the country should continue on the path of reform, stability, and shared prosperity. He urged the participants, who are coordinators from the six geopolitical zones, to work towards producing a declaration on national mobilisation, a national grassroots mobilisation blueprint, and other key documents before the end of the retreat. Uzodimma defended the administration's key policies, including the removal of fuel subsidy and foreign exchange reforms, stating that they were difficult but necessary decisions aimed at securing Nigeria's long-term economic future. The APC National Chairman, Prof Nentawe Yilwatda, also spoke at the event, highlighting the administration's notable economic gains, including a trade surplus of N7.55tn in the first quarter of 2026 and an increase in foreign reserves to over $50bn. Yilwatda challenged the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to translate the administration's economic data into accessible human narratives, stating that policies and projects do not speak for themselves, but people do. The Secretary of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and Governor of Gombe State, Inuwa Yahaya, noted that the retreat was a direct response to the approaching 2027 elections and urged participants to deploy facts against the opposition's campaign of disinformation.
