Tinubu's 2027 Ambition Under Fire as Dalung Labels Him 'Unserious' Candidate

As the 2027 presidential election draws near, former Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalung, has come out swinging against President Bola Tinubu, describing him as the most unserious presidential candidate. In a recent interview with media personality, Seun Okinbaloye, Dalung expressed his doubts about Tinubu's chances, stating that the President's supporters do not make up more than 14 percent of the Nigerian population. According to Dalung, Tinubu is 'living in a world of his own' and is being misled by his handlers and social media feedback. Dalung questioned the possibility of Tinubu winning any state, including Lagos, which he predicted would be a 'battle zone' between the APC, NDC, ADC, and PDP. He also cited Tinubu's previous defeat in 2023 as evidence that the President has not learned from his mistakes, particularly in addressing insecurity, hunger, and frustration. As Dalung put it, 'allowing insecurity to fester, hunger and frustration is designing your political grave as a politician.' The former Minister's comments are likely to stir up controversy as the 2027 election season heats up.
