As the Muslim community in Nigeria and around the world celebrates Eid el-Kabir, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and his Rivers State counterpart Siminalayi Fubara have sent warm felicitations to Muslims in their states and across the country. In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori called on Muslim faithful to embody the spirit of sacrifice and compassion that defines the Eid el-Kabir celebration, urging them to offer special prayers for peace, unity, and Nigeria's development. The governor also encouraged Muslims to resume charitable acts, particularly towards the poor and vulnerable members of society, emphasizing that charity is a fundamental principle of Islam. Furthermore, he urged Nigerians to remain committed to serving humanity by devoting their time and resources to Allah and supporting one another, especially in times of need. Similarly, Governor Fubara, in his Eid el-Kabir message, urged Nigerians to uphold values that promote peaceful coexistence and national harmony. He described the celebration as a period of deep reflection on the virtues of sacrifice, generosity, and unity. Fubara also expressed his appreciation to the Muslim community in Rivers State for their contributions to the state's peace, economic growth, and social harmony, stating that Eid el-Kabir should serve as an opportunity for both Muslims and non-Muslims to reaffirm their commitment to mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and collective progress.
