A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to express her frustration over what she perceives as unfair housing rules for single women. In a Facebook post, she noted that her male neighbor frequently hosts different women at his residence, often with new female visitors arriving every weekend. This starkly contrasts with her own experience, as she claimed that not a single man has spent the night at her place since she rented it almost three years ago. The lady stated that the only time a man slept over at her house was when her friend, her brother, and their family friend came over after a night out at a club, and they all crashed at her place due to its proximity. She emphasized that this was an isolated incident and that no man has ever spent more than a few hours at her residence. The lady's grievance stems from the fact that landlords often discriminate against single women, refusing to rent houses to them on the grounds that they might engage in immoral activities with men. She argued that this bias is unfair, given that men are not subjected to the same scrutiny. The lady's post has sparked a conversation about the double standards that exist in Nigerian society, particularly when it comes to the treatment of single women.
