The Supreme Leader of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, has issued a stern warning to the United States, stating that the country will face 'unforgettable lessons' due to its recent actions. This statement comes after a month of heightened tensions between the two nations, following the collapse of a preliminary agreement aimed at ending their conflict. The US has reported its first military casualties since the resumption of hostilities, with two service members killed and one missing in action during Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks in Jordan. According to Iranian state media, the country's military has targeted various sites, including an oil facility in Kuwait and a power and water plant, as well as launching strikes in Bahrain and Jordan. The Iranian army claimed to have targeted an air base used by the US in Bahrain, while the state broadcaster reported that fuel tanks at the Al-Azraq base in Jordan were also targeted. Major General Mohsen Rezaei, a senior military adviser to Khamenei, warned that Tehran would resume 'full-scale offensive operations' if US strikes continued. The US Central Command reported that two service members were killed on Friday while defending against Iranian attacks, with another still missing in action. The ongoing conflict has sparked fears among residents in the region, with many stockpiling essential supplies and avoiding public areas. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi stated that the US has 'violated and stopped all its commitments' under the memorandum of understanding, and Iran has also ceased its commitments. The situation has raised concerns about the potential for further escalation and the impact on the region. As the conflict continues, hopes for a political settlement appear to be dwindling, despite efforts by mediators to bring both sides back to the negotiating table.
