A recent military operation in Jordan has resulted in the loss of two US service members, with another still missing. According to a statement released by the US Central Command, the incident occurred during a joint operation between US forces and their partners, who were defending against Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks. Four other US service members were injured in the attack and have since been treated and released from hospitals in Jordan. The identities of the service members who were killed, injured, or missing have not been disclosed, as the US military is waiting for the next of kin to be notified before releasing further information. This latest incident brings the total number of US service members killed in action to 16, with over 430 wounded since the conflict began. The attack occurred shortly after Iran's supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, warned the US of 'unforgettable lessons' if it continues to attack the Islamic Republic. Khamenei's remarks were read out on state TV and also criticized President Donald Trump's signature as 'worthless and invalid.' The comments were made after a negotiator announced that Tehran was suspending its commitments to the interim deal signed about a month ago. The deal was aimed at bringing an end to the fighting, but Khamenei's warnings suggest that the conflict is far from over. The US and Iran have been engaging in a series of strikes, targeting each other's infrastructure and military capabilities. The conflict has intensified in recent days, with a focus on control of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway that was previously a major route for the world's crude oil. The US Central Command reported that its latest strikes hit 'surveillance sites, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage, and maritime capabilities.' Iran's deputy foreign minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, told state TV that the US has violated its commitments under the deal, and as a result, Iran is 'no longer implementing them.' The conflict continues to escalate, with the global economy on high alert and civilians caught in the crossfire.
