A fresh wave of attacks has been unleashed by Iran on Kuwait's critical infrastructure, with another power and water plant coming under hostile fire on Saturday. This development comes on the heels of a similar attack the previous day, which resulted in a fire and significant damage to the facility. According to a statement released by Kuwait's Ministry of Electricity and Water, the latest attack led to the deactivation of several power generation units due to a fire breaking out in one of the plant's components. The country's fire service reported that the Iranian attacks sparked blazes at two separate locations, resulting in injuries to several firemen and a worker. As a precautionary measure, Kuwait's national carrier announced that most flights would be rescheduled due to the temporary suspension of air traffic at Kuwait International Airport, following rocket and drone attacks. Meanwhile, in Bahrain, the army successfully repelled a series of aerial attacks launched by Iran, with air defence systems intercepting and destroying multiple Iranian aerial assaults. The Iranian army had earlier claimed responsibility for targeting an air base in Bahrain used by the United States, in retaliation for American strikes. The targeted air base, Sheikh Isa Air Base, was reportedly hit by drones that targeted aircraft shelters, fuel storage tanks, and connecting bridges. The situation remains tense, with air-raid sirens sounding multiple times in Bahrain, prompting residents to seek shelter.
