Ossai Success, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, has come forward with a generous offer of N500,000 in cash support and an ambassadorial appointment to the young United Bank for Africa (UBA) employee. This gesture follows her recent viral moment where she addressed UBA Chairman, Tony Elumelu, by his first name.

Mr. Success publicly announced his offer via a Facebook post on Saturday. The comprehensive package includes a complimentary VIP journey to Asaba for the fourth annual Delta Social Media Summit, slated for Thursday, August 27, 2026. He detailed that the support comprises "N500,000 cash support," airfare to Asaba, and "5-Star Hotel Accommodation." Additionally, the UBA staffer would be treated to a "Guided tour of developmental projects in Delta State" and granted "VIP Access to the Summit on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Mariam Babangida Leisure Park, Opposite Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba."

Beyond the financial and travel benefits, Ossai Success also proposed a "Brand Ambassador Role for Delta Social Media Summit – an annual platform." Explaining his motivation, Ossai highlighted the excessive online backlash the woman received. He stated, “I know the internet can be harsh. Depression is real, and words cut deep. She made a mistake, but we don’t need to t*rment her daily; she needs our support.”

While offering support, Ossai also acknowledged Mr. Elumelu, expressing gratitude for his intervention. “Thank you Mr Tony Elumelu for pointing out the needed correction that will further strengthen respect in our society,” he added. Ossai Success urged anyone aware of the woman's identity to prompt her to contact him directly. He assured, “If you’re reading this or anyone knows her, please ask her to DM me. I will give her a good time and a platform to tell her story. Let’s turn this pain into purpose. She won’t be disappointed.”

The incident that brought the young woman into the spotlight occurred during UBA’s Graduate Management Accelerated Programme graduation ceremony. A video showed her addressing Elumelu as “Tony” while posing a question. Initially appearing to take it lightly, Elumelu subsequently clarified his preference: “Okay. No, you won’t call me Tony. You’ll call me Mr Elumelu or TOE. You won’t call me Tony, or Chairman. I don’t subscribe to that kind of… Oyinbo life, okay?” The woman promptly corrected herself, addressing him as “Mr Elumelu” before continuing.

This video quickly circulated across social media, sparking diverse reactions. Some Nigerians sided with Elumelu’s stance on respect, while others suggested the woman might have been adhering to a first-name corporate culture prevalent in some environments. The ceremony celebrated 374 young professionals completing UBA's Graduate Management Accelerated Programme, recognized by the bank as future leaders across its African operations.
