Tamunosoye Karibi-George, Nigeria's delegate to the 2026 Miss World competition, has secured a significant victory by clinching the Top Model for Africa title at the ongoing international pageant in Vietnam. This achievement automatically places the 26-year-old communications expert from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, into the coveted Top 40 quarterfinals of the Miss World 2026 contest, as confirmed by the event organisers.

Karibi-George now stands alongside other continental champions in the Top Model category. These include the representative from the Dominican Republic, who was named Top Model for the Americas and Caribbean; Miss World France, who took the Top Model for Europe award; and Miss World Vietnam, who won for Asia and Oceania. These continental winners earned their direct entry into the Top 40 after their outstanding performances during the Top Model segment of the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest XVII, an event themed "Soul of Heritage."

The 75th Anniversary Miss World Festival commenced in Vietnam on August 9 and is scheduled to conclude with its grand finale on September 5. Karibi-George, who hails from Port Harcourt, was crowned Miss World Nigeria on June 6 at the Balmoral Hall of the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos, before embarking on her journey to represent the nation on the global stage.
