ARISE News has announced the immediate suspension of political analyst Anthony Kila from all its broadcasting platforms. This action follows serious allegations regarding the falsification of his academic credentials.

The television network's decision stems from an investigative report by Premium Times. The report raised questions about Kila's claim to a professorial title and subsequently uncovered inconsistencies across his asserted bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and professorial qualifications.

According to a statement released by the ARISE News Editorial Board on Tuesday via its official X handle, the organization reached out to Kila on October 3, 2026, to solicit his response to these claims. However, Kila requested additional time to provide a reply and, as of ten days later, has yet to respond to the allegations.

ARISE News noted that it has acknowledged the findings of the Premium Times investigation and, consequently, will no longer feature Kila on any of its platforms, effective immediately and indefinitely. “Following claims that Anthony Kila falsified his entire academic credentials, we contacted Mr Kila on 03 October, 2026 with the allegations. He asked for more time to respond to the claims. He has not responded 10 days after,” the statement clarified.

The network further stated that the gravity of these allegations has made Kila's continued presence on its platform untenable. ARISE News also clarified that it was unaware of these issues when Kila initially began appearing on its programmes as a freelance political analyst. “ARISE News was unaware of these allegations at the time Anthony Kila appeared on our platform and as we take matters of credibility and integrity extremely seriously,” the statement added.
