Bomb Scare Prompts Evacuation of Delta Flight from New York in Tel Aviv

Full Story
A Delta Airlines flight originating from New York was reportedly evacuated on Tuesday, October 13, at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport following a bomb threat. Reports from the Jerusalem Post indicated that passengers aboard the Airbus A330 twin-jet aircraft were swiftly moved into the airport terminal while investigators conducted a thorough search of the plane.
Authorities had received intelligence suggesting the presence of an explosive device on the flight. However, after a comprehensive search, the threat was determined to be false. An Israel Airports Authority spokesperson confirmed to Ynet, stating, “The incident has ended with no unusual findings. Operations have returned to normal.”
Delta Airlines maintains a regular daily service connecting New York's JFK Airport with Tel Aviv. The flight in question had departed from JFK shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Monday and touched down in Tel Aviv around 8:30 a.m. local time.
This security incident occurs less than two weeks after a separate alarming event involving a flydubai co-pilot, Hamam al-Hammami, who allegedly assaulted pilot Smit Machchhar in an attempt to hijack a plane also en route to Tel Aviv.
