Arsenal Holds Firm on Player Valuations, Refusing to Overpay for Guimaraes and Others

Arsenal Football Club is reportedly taking a firm stance in the current summer transfer window, prioritizing quality additions while strictly adhering to their player valuations. The North London giants are keen to bolster their squad significantly as they aim to build on their performance from the previous season.
One notable example of this approach was seen in their pursuit of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa. While Arsenal expressed interest in the player, they set their maximum valuation at £80 million and declined to increase their offer, even when presented with the opportunity to match Chelsea's eventual £117 million bid for Rogers, who ultimately moved to Stamford Bridge.
Similarly, Arsenal has a clear maximum valuation for Newcastle and Brazil midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, for whom they are prepared to offer £70 million. Despite their strong desire to sign the talented midfielder, the Gunners are unwilling to exceed this valuation.
In defence, Arsenal has a primary target in Ezri Konsa, the 28-year-old England international from Aston Villa. Enquiries have been made regarding his availability. Another defender on their radar is Jacobo Ramon from Como, although contractual clauses are understood to complicate any potential deal for the Spanish player.
Following their unsuccessful attempt to sign Rogers, Arsenal remains actively searching for attacking reinforcements. Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez is considered a 'dream target' for the club. However, securing his services presents significant challenges, including his reported preference for a move to Barcelona and the potential transfer fee, which could surpass the British record of £125 million paid by Liverpool for Alexander Isak from Newcastle. The club has also explored the possibility of signing Paris St-Germain winger Bradley Barcola.
