Students duped as NANS reveals 43 schools in NELFUND tuition fraud scandal

Following the revelation by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) that certain tertiary institutions were under investigation for allegedly failing to refund students who had their tuition fees paid twice, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has stepped forward with a list of 43 institutions implicated in this double tuition payment scandal. According to NANS, these institutions, which include universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education spread across the country's six geopolitical zones, are accused of not reimbursing students who had already paid their tuition fees before NELFUND made the same payments to the schools on their behalf. In a statement released by NANS President, Akinteye Babatunde Afeez, the association emphasized that the publication of the list is aimed at promoting transparency and ensuring that the affected students receive their refunds without any further delays. The list of institutions includes notable names such as Adamawa State University, Mubi; Federal Polytechnic, Mubi; Federal College of Education, Yola; Kaduna State Polytechnic; Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa; Federal University, Dutsin-Ma; and many others. NANS' action is seen as a move to hold these institutions accountable and to protect the interests of the students who have been affected by this double payment issue.
