Drake's Camp Dismisses 'Janice STFU' Chorus Theft Claim as Baseless Lawsuit

Full Story
Music superstar Drake is strongly denying accusations that he plagiarized the hook for his track 'Janice STFU.' These claims stem from producer Aviel Calev Hirschfield, who has initiated legal proceedings against the renowned artist.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Hirschfield, professionally known as Avi, asserts that he recorded the vocal hook in January 2026. He further states that he then shared this recording with producers known to collaborate with Drake. Hirschfield contends that the track Drake subsequently released in May features identical lyrical content and melodic structure.
Despite providing timestamped audio evidence to substantiate his claim, Hirschfield alleges he was denied proper songwriting recognition and a portion of the earnings from the song.
A spokesperson representing Drake has vehemently refuted these allegations. The representative informed TMZ, stating, “These allegations are categorically, unequivocally, and completely denied. There is not one iota of truth to these accusations.”
The lawsuit, which was lodged on Friday, was characterized by Drake's representative as a “manufactured and baseless attempt” designed to leverage the artist's fame and achievements for financial gain and media attention. The spokesperson further asserted, “Drake wrote this song and has no connection or knowledge of this person full stop.”
As of now, a court has yet to rule on the veracity of these claims.
