In Katsina State, military personnel operating under Operation FANSAN YAMMA successfully liberated five abducted females, among whom were a mother and her baby. This information was shared via the Nigerian Army’s official X account on Thursday. Acting on credible intelligence regarding the movement of suspected terr*rists near Madaci Forest in Sabuwa Local Government Area, the troops swiftly mobilized to intercept them. The military reported that this intervention created “confusion in the enemy camp,” which facilitated the rescue of the captives. The freed individuals comprised a mother, her infant, and three additional minors and young adults originating from Danja and Funtua Local Government Areas.

Following their rescue, the armed forces stated that the victims were handed over to Hon. Abubakar Musa, the Chairman of Bakori Local Government Area, to be reunited with their respective families. This operation forms a component of continuous initiatives by security agencies aimed at disrupting criminal networks and safeguarding communities throughout the region.

Concurrently, in Sokoto State, soldiers from the 248 Reconnaissance Battalion successfully repelled a terr*rist assault on Badiya Village in Shagari Local Government Area. Based on intelligence concerning suspicious activities, the battalion engaged the assailants, compelling them to withdraw, as confirmed by the military. During their retreat, the attackers abandoned a substantial number of rustled livestock. These animals were subsequently returned to their legitimate owners in a ceremony organized by the Shagari Local Government chairman and the local District Head. The military affirmed that troops are sustaining “aggressive patrols” within these affected zones to restrict the movement of criminals and aid in restoring peace.
