Nasarawa Police Nab Four Suspects in Foiled Kidn*p-Murder Plot Against Businessman

The Nasarawa State Police Command has successfully thwarted an intended abduction within the Obi Local Government Area, leading to the apprehension of four individuals. These suspects are believed to have colluded to kidn*p a local businessman and subsequently take his life after securing a ransom payment. The individuals identified as Yahaya Musa, Likita Adamu, Riga Abdullahi, and Saidu Alhaji Gari, all residents of Adudu District, were taken into custody by operatives from the State Intelligence Department (SID) in Lafia, acting on credible intelligence.

SP Ramhan Nansel, the command's spokesperson, issued a statement on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, confirming the arrests. He stated that the quartet allegedly conspired to abduct Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, also known as Alhaji Na'iye. The police uncovered the elaborate scheme before it could be put into motion. Initial arrests of two suspects occurred on September 19, with the remaining two apprehended on September 22 and September 23.

During their interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to their involvement in the crime. They further disclosed their sinister intention to eliminate their victim after the ransom had been paid. All four individuals have since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Lafia for comprehensive investigation and subsequent legal proceedings.

CP Shetima Jauro Muhammad, the Commissioner of Police, has mandated a thorough investigation into the matter, ensuring that all those found culpable are brought to justice. He also appealed to residents to maintain vigilance and promptly report any suspicious activities or movements to the police authorities.
